Announcing the 2010 Local Community Web Site Contest Winners

The SNA Local Community Web Site Contest represents the top Web initiatives from community and suburban newspapers across North America. Entries for this year's contest did not fail to disappoint. We're extremely proud of all the Web sites that entered the contest and recognize the hard work and innovation that goes into creating a winning site.

And the winners are...

Web Site of the Year

Web Site of the Year applies to any site produced by a local newspaper. Winners in this category provide overall excellence including design, ease of navigation, content, reader interactivity, innovation and advertising.

First place honors for this category, divided into 4 classes, were awarded to:

Class A — sites produced by daily newspapers with a total circulation over 40,000

Best Overall Local News recognizes the best providers of local news in the communities that they serve. Treatment of breaking news, breadth and depth of content, amount and timeliness of updating information and much more contribute to the Best Overall Local News Site.
