Now Open for Entry: 2012 LMA Advertising Contest

Our community newspapers are full of amazing local news that we're all proud of, and behind it all stands hard-working advertising and classified departments. The annual Local Media Association Advertising and Promotions Contest recognizes your creative hard work throughout North America. With thirty categories just waiting to be won -- from Best Ad Series, to Best Cover Page to Best Shopping Area Promotion -- this contest covers the gamut. Enter today!


HOW TO ENTER

Local Media Association is again teaming up with NewspaperToolbox to provide an online entry platform for the 2012 Advertising and Promotions Contest. The online contest entry system is designed to make the process of entering contests quicker, easier and less costly than the previous method of mailing 'hard-copy' material. It also allows Local Media Association to electronically archive all entries and make them available for review.

CLICK HERE to enter your contest submissions online. Click on the 2012 Local Media Association Advertising and Promotions Contest banner to start the entry process. Online entries must be submitted by end of day, Friday, June 1, 2012.

Manual mail-in entries will still be accepted and must be postmarked by Friday, June 1, 2012, and received at LMA Headquarters no later than June 8, 2012. Mail-in entries postmarked after June 1, 2012 may not be accepted. If you'd like to continue to submit manual 'hard-copy' entries, please contact LMA headquarters at  (888) 486-2466  or hq@localmedia.org.

Contest Guidelines
All entries must have been published in your newspaper(s) between April 1, 2011 - March 31, 2012. You may submit as many entries as you like. The majority of the contest categories are divided into two classes, dailies and weeklies, with further breakouts based on circulation.

SPECIAL AWARDS
Advertising and Classified Director of the Year Awards
Don't forget to nominate your candidate for Advertising Manager/Director of the Year and/or Classified Advertising Manager/Director of the Year. If you know of someone who has shown outstanding leadership within your organization, this is a fantastic way to get them recognized!

Best Innovation Award
Has your advertising staff embraced a culture of innovation? Do you include time for innovation at every staff meeting? Have you appointed an innovation champion? If so, we're looking for you! This award will be presented to an advertising staff that has built a culture of innovation or to a member of the staff that has created such a culture. We are specifically looking for strategies that make innovation repeatable at your company.

**IMPORTANT DEADLINE NOTE**
Please be certain to review the rules carefully before preparing your entries. Online entries must be submitted by end of day, Friday, June 1, 2012. The submission of manual 'mail-in' entries must be postmarked by Friday, June 1, 2012, and received at Local Media Association Headquarters no later than June 8, 2012. Mail-in entries postmarked after June 1, 2012, may not be accepted.
